Detailed Zoning Certification Letter Request Form

A detailed zoning certification letter certifies the current zoning, land use, and permitted uses of a parcel of land. It also includes the research and information pertaining to overlay district, special exceptions, variances, zoning/building code violations, etc. A fee of $120.00 is assessed to cover the cost of processing the request and $240.00 if less than 48 hours notice is given.

Here you can ask questions about the property in question. Some commonly asked questions are:

• Zoning of the property?
• Are there any work orders or notices of violation outstanding pursuant to the applicable building or zoning by-laws or any other matters within your jurisdiction?
• Has the property been subject to an application to the Committee of Adjustment or Land Division Committee?
• Does the property front on a year round public maintained road?
• Are there any final inspections outstanding with respect to plumbing, heating, drainage or building permits?
